A timelapse video of sagebrush steppe species shows that rehydration of leaves is crucial to leaf measurements because species level weights and areas will be inaccurate if leaves are wilted. 


Some of my favorite plant species from when I worked in the Coteau Prairies of South Dakota. Left to Right:  Lilium philadelphicum (Wood Lily), Cypripedium candidum (White Lady's Slipper), Pulsatilla patens (Pasqueflower), and Corallorhiza striata (Striped coralroot).
